This makes me very happy. I have a million quibbly things to say about the mechanics of auction-based decision-making but I think they are beside the point because I’ve come to agree that it doesn’t work unless you put in a totally unreasonable amount of effort (which of course Bethany and I do for fun, so we don’t count) on replacing a whole set of norms with a different set of norms.
