I received my Ph.D. in the joint program of Linguistics and Germanic
Languages & Literatures at the University of Michigan in 2007, under the
direction of Prof. José Benkí and Prof. Pam Beddor. My
dissertation,Context Effects in Spoken Word Recognition of English and
German by Native and Non-native Listeners
, investigated how
lexico-statistical properties of words affect spoken word recognition.

After completing my Ph.D., I was a post-doctoral fellow at Indiana University from 2007-2009, working in the Speech Research Laboratory led by Prof. David Pisoni.

I am interested in all aspects of Linguistics, but especially phonetics,
and how sounds are represented in the brain. I have also done research in
Historical Linguistics, Second Language Acquisition, Sociolinguistics, and
Dialectology.
